#This scene is perfect and telling for so many reasons #For starters there’s Tywin #Shrewd and even brutal when he needs to be #A cold man who emasculates his bannermen and never loved his children half as well as he should have #because he expected things from them #And then there’s Arya #Who’s just lost her father and is about as lost as lost could be #And this strange man #This enemy #Makes her his cupbearer for no apparent reason #He compliments her and makes her feel worthwhile in a way few people ever did #He comments on her bravery and her intellect #Things she was told by her septa and her sister did not suit the life of what she was #Which was a lady #And even though she’s supposed to hate Tywin #Even though she later steals the letter with the intention to betray him #Because fundamentally #She does not love him in the least #This man #This stranger #Has given her what no one else ever truly did #He has recognised all the little things about her which make her special #And made her unashamed of them
